Yesterday was our first day in our new ward. It was fine. Quite a mix of very different people, and our chorister sings opera, but otherwise fairly normal. I had been nervous all morning about taking Lyza to a new nursery where I wouldn't be in there with her. So we leave sacrament meeting and head down the hall to nursery, and posted on the door is a sign that reads: "Stop! Nursery has been canceled for today. Sorry for the inconvenience." WHAT? Who cancels nursery? So we took Lyza in to gospel doctrine, and she lasted for about 20 minutes before we decided to just go home. In the hall I met the executive secretary who told me the cancellation was not a normal thing, but that his wife, the Primary president, had been asking for a nursery leader for two months and was tired of getting subs so she had cancelled nursery until they got her one. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Yes, we are definitely not in Kansas anymore, Toto.

interesting. looks like someone may have a new calling very soon.
Yes, I agree you are not in Kansas, or Utah :) hehe. I bet Lola may be right. Maybe you will be joining me in the nursery leader position. Good luck in your new ward until they do find a teacher. Sounds like you get to do sacrament only!!
I say kudos to the Primary president! Maybe the BISHOPRIC should take turns substituting (or at least arranging for substitutes) until they find a new nursery leader. Or maybe they should just announce that everyone with kids will take a 6-month rotation in the nursery. I'm just sayin'.
Yes, too funny. I spoke to the primary pres today and she said they are finally calling a couple this week. Looks like the fire worked.
I'm with the Prez on this one. Sometimes you gotta let those boys know you mean business.
Nursery worker was my favorite calling! I got to play with toys and eat snacks at church. Plus, we had a bully in our nursery who provided much entertainment as he bulldozed through the room with his tonka dump truck.
Wouldn't want to be nursery pres. though.
